 Super Soul Sister Choir
Founded by Victoria musician, Connie Lebeau, Super Soul Sister is an unauditioned women’s choir that performs rhythm and blues and rock and roll classics in Victoria, B.C. If you’ve been looking for a way to lift your spirits and get a physical workout at the same time, Super Soul Sister will exercise your mind, body and spirit.
Just a year old, Super Soul Sister brought down the house at this year’s Mother’s Day-weekend performance with songs like Fire, Mr. Postman, and Mustang Sally. No doubt they will do so again at next spring’s concert under the direction of guest conductor Danielle Lebeau-Petersen.
Super Soul Sister rehearses Wednesday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Fairfield at St. Matthias United Church on the corner of Richardson and Richmond. The choir rehearses periodically with a live band. Soloists are chosen from among volunteers within the choir.
The first rehearsal, at 6:00 p.m. on September 10th will begin an hour earlier than usual for an informal social hour and an orientation to the choir for newcomers. At 7:00 p.m. Danielle will begin warm up.
Fees for the season (September – May) are $50/month or $450.00 for the season. For ease of administration, we would prefer if you could pay your fees in one or two installments, but 9 post-dated cheques for $50.00 each (September 2008 - May 2009), or 12 post-dated cheques for $37.50 each (September 2008 – August 2009) are acceptable alternatives.
Please download the Registration form and bring to the first rehearsal. If you’re unable to print this file, there will be forms at the rehearsal until the end of September, when intake ceases.
