Rock Band Workshop
This is our most popular program, totally unique to this school. Using
our pool of bass, drum, keyboard, electric guitar and vocal students,
we form basic rock bands and study pop and rock music, both current
and classic. Each student has the opportunity to study the music with
their individual teacher and is expected to learn the music prior to
arriving at rehearsal. The band program begins at the end of September
and ends around Spring Break. Bands meet once a week for a total of
twenty rehearsals or performances.
Kids In Session
Our singing/recording program, is popular with both kids and parents.
While primarily a singing program, it is also open to instrumentalists
who have reached a level of proficiency that allows them to lay down
a solid track. Students can record their original material with professional
back-up tracks. Niels has produced many albums and CD's over the years
and brings his wealth of experience to this program. Students from 'Kids
in Session' are regularly featured at our annual Valentines Concerts
& Fall Family Dances.
Private Drum Lessons:
We offer half-hour private lessons with some of the best teachers
in the city. Each teacher has their own curriculum so please call us
to find out what would best suit your child's needs, learning style
and musical study goals.
Treble Makers Kids Choir
Kids just wanna have fun! This is the appeal of our Rock 'n' Roll Academy's
newest program. Children ages 8 1/2 - 12 learn the world's most cherished
folk melodies as well as pop and a touch of classical music to round
out the repertoire. Accompanied by a typical rock band format, this
is a kids choir with a totally different sound. Their mission is to
provoke concern for the environment and to raise funds for the David
Suzuki Foundation through concerts and fees. Open to all children, the
cost for choir is on a sliding scale of $10 - $20 per rehearsal. We
meet on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 4:30 at St. Matthias Church Hall, 600 Richmond
Road, corner of Richmond and Richardson.
